Care guide for your extensions
Our hair has been carefully selected according to high quality standards and further processed in gentle production processes. We offer exclusively 100% Remy human hair and thus guarantee that all hair has been processed in the correct growth direction. This is the only way to ensure a long wear time and easy combability. Nevertheless, all extensions require special care, as they are no longer nourished by the scalp (for example with sebum during daily brushing), as is the case with your own hair.
Hair washing
Brush the hair thoroughly before washing. Wash your hair with special care and not upside down to avoid putting unnecessary strain on the bonds. Use only extension care products; they contain few to no alcohols, silicones, acids, oils, or wheat proteins, which could soften the keratin. After each wash, a rinse/conditioner should be used and, from time to time, a keratin treatment. Gently squeeze the hair with a towel without rubbing it. Carefully sort the damp strands and gently comb through them with an extension brush without pulling! Never comb or brush your hair when it is completely wet! If combability is difficult, please apply a detangling spray (e.g. Argan Spray) to the lengths. Always blow-dry the bonds briefly, even if you let your hair air-dry.
Brushing/ Combing
Sort the strands once a day by running your fingers along the scalp between the bonds. Never comb or brush your hair when it is completely wet! Wavy and curly extensions should not be brushed through completely every day; using a wide-tooth comb is better. They should only be brushed out before and after washing. Brush straight extensions in the morning and evening, holding the strands a little at the roots and combing through the lengths. Also brush over the bonds. Always use a special extension brush! Do not pull or tug! Always brush the ends first, then the middle section, and finally the roots.
Styling
There are no limits here as long as you handle the hair carefully. You can also use hot rollers or straighteners (not with synthetic extensions); we recommend using a heat protectant. Please brush out teased hair before going to bed.
Sleeping
To avoid unnecessary friction between the scalp and bedding, simply braid the hair before going to bed and/or wear a silk cap.
Leisure activities
In principle, the extensions do not restrict you in your activities. However, the hair can be damaged by: sauna visits, saltwater baths, steam baths, chlorine, and seawater. In these cases, you should take special care and, if necessary, tie the hair up.
Coloring / bleaching / perming
These treatments may only be carried out by an extension specialist to ensure that the strands and bonds are not affected by the chemical processes. After the process, no guarantee is given for the structure, hair color, or durability of the extensions!
Cleaning cut
At least every 4 - 6 weeks, a so-called cleaning cut should be performed, in which the shed natural hairs that are stuck in the bond are cut away. If this is not done, matting between the bond and the roots can be expected.
Clip-on wefts
Remove the hairpiece before showering or bathing. Clean the weft regularly by gently moving it back and forth in a small basin or container with a little water and shampoo. A little conditioner, which you then also rinse out thoroughly with clear water, is also very good for the hair. Rinse thoroughly from the roots to the ends. Gently blot the hairpiece dry or wrap it in a towel and dry it with a blow dryer (lukewarm) or let it air-dry.
We hope you enjoy your new extensions, and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!
Application of Bonding Extensions
Preparation
If you are doing a hair extension for the first time, please make sure to allow plenty of time. To also take a few breaks, you should plan for 4 to 5 hours. The natural hair should have a minimum length of 10 cm so that the bonds are not visible.
Before the extension, the hair is thoroughly washed, preferably with a so-called cleansing or peeling shampoo, but a mild shampoo (for normal hair) can also be used if necessary. After that, do not use any care products, conditioner, etc., as these would smooth the hair too much and the bond could slip later. Then blow-dry the hair completely; it must not be damp or clammy under any circumstances, as moisture causes the bond to swell from the inside and become porous. Let the hair cool down briefly.
Sectioning
Divide the hair into 5 sections, starting with the large nape section. In principle, leave a few centimeters around the contours so that the bonds are not visible even with updos.

You start at the lowest nape line and work in horizontal rows offset from one another from bottom to top (example: in regular layered masonry, the bricks are always laid with an offset from row to row). Leave 1 cm between the individual rows. If the bonds are placed too close together, they will rub and the hair may become tangled.
Rows should also be placed loosely above the ears by leaving one section free each time.
Once you have finished this section, begin with the upper back-of-head section. Here too, loose rows are placed, meaning one strand is left free between each individual strand. This also applies to the two side sections at the temples.
If you have very fine hair, you can also work in half strands in the upper sections by carefully dividing the bond vertically beforehand. This creates a very natural effect.
The last section above the forehead up to the crown is only filled with individual strands, as the bonds can hardly be concealed there.
Application
After you have carefully sectioned the hair and exposed the lowest working row (the upper hair in the same section must of course also be pinned up), use a tail comb to section off the first strand, ideally 1 x 1 cm, and pull this strand away from the head.
Now bend the spacer slightly apart at the top and carefully slide the natural hair strand through. The spacer is now attached to the upper section with a small clip, as close to the head as possible; if necessary, attach a clip at the top and bottom. Make sure that only hair from the separated strand lies in the template opening, otherwise it will feel unpleasant later or the strand will twist in one direction.
Now take the bonding strand and place it, with the bond about 1 - 1.5 cm away from the scalp, over the natural hair strand. (Please do not attach the extension strand too tightly to the head, as this would put too much tension on the hair roots and could be painful when lying down.)
Hold the two strands as close to the head as possible, i.e. at an acute angle. If the angle is too large, an incorrect tension ratio is created and the hair in the upper part of the strand carries the entire load while the lower hair bends. You can twist the natural hair strand slightly (about 45 degrees) so that it is easier to place in the template, but during the actual application with keratin it must not be twisted, as this would make removal very difficult later.
If you now hold the two strands firmly with your left hand close to the head, take the heating clamp and heat the bond from both sides (top and bottom) until it becomes soft and flat and forms small bubbles. The keratin must be completely melted through. Now put the heating clamp aside again, place your thumb under the bond, and use your right index finger to fold the bond once from the right under the natural hair strand, switch hands, then fold once from the left and press it down firmly. This “wraps” the natural hair and encloses it securely. Compression pliers are ideal for this, as they give the bond sufficient pressure shortly before cooling and seals it airtight.

Use the compression pliers to apply brief pressure to the top and bottom of the bond, thereby sealing the keratin connection securely and firmly. This extra step achieves maximum durability of the bonds, as this pressure cannot be achieved with your fingers.
Once you have folded over the heated bond, you can also gently twist it a little between your thumb and index finger while applying pressure. Hold your hand toward the head and secure the bond from top to bottom. In any case, it is important that the bond is tightly closed at the top and bottom so that no water or sebum can penetrate later.
If white spots are still visible on the bond, the keratin has not been heated completely and you must heat it again with the heating clamp. Even if there are uneven, rough, or sharp areas on the bond, it must be briefly reheated and smoothed with your fingers.
Afterwards, the bond should not be longer than before. The keratin connection usually becomes too long if you shift it during attachment. Please trim the keratin plate before application so that it is no longer than the width of your clamp tip. This allows you to heat the entire plate with the first press. If the connection is then to your satisfaction, even and smooth, you can release the clips and carefully remove the spacer and begin with the next strand.
After the extension
The hair must not be washed for 24 hours after the extension (48 hours is best) so that the keratin is guaranteed to have hardened!
To achieve the most natural result possible, it is recommended to add some layers to the hairstyle or thin out the hair slightly; this works very well with a slicer or a razor comb. The hair is not shortened, but merely layered slightly downward, as hair naturally becomes a little thinner toward the ends. If you have no experience with layering at all, it is better to have this done by a hairdresser. However, if the natural hair is already longer and there are no hard lines, slicing is not absolutely necessary.
Please always pay attention to intensive care in order to keep your extensions beautiful for a long time. A cleaning cut every 4 weeks is also strongly recommended to cut away the naturally shed hairs so that no matting forms at the bond.
Always comb the extended hair with an extension brush (not when wet) and never pull. Wavy/curly extensions should only be combed with a wide-tooth comb and brushed through completely less often.
Application of Tape Extensions
For good preparation for applying Tape Extensions, it is important to section the individual natural hair areas precisely. Consider how many sections you want to divide the natural hair into. (See “Application of Bonding Extensions” - We recommend 4 to 5 hair sections.)
It is best to use a needle comb and several hair clips for securing.
As with extensions or Bonding Extensions, the section in question must be prepared very carefully, as the strands are glued in and therefore all natural hairs below the adhesive area must be aligned correctly.
Now think carefully about where you want to start applying the Tape Extensions. (We recommend working from left to right.)
Option 1
Lift a thin strand of natural hair, place the first strand underneath it, and then stick the second strand exactly on top.
Now press both tapes together lightly.
Option 2
Stick one strand to the natural hair and lift it up with it. Now place the second strand exactly underneath it. Now press both tapes together lightly. Always leave about 5 - 10 mm between the hairline and the tape.
Always make sure to leave some contour on the sides (about 2 cm) so that the hair can be tied up or pinned up without the bond being visible.
It is also important to ensure that there is still enough top hair on the crown to cover the bonds.
Important
Now take a straightener (if required for the respective Tape Extensions (= application with heat)) and work the roots by heating the tape bond between the ceramic plates, thereby activating the adhesive for a few seconds. Then set the straightener aside again.
When pressing together, it is best to use Tape Pliers. This guarantees an airtight application of the Tape Extensions.
When you have finished with the first section of hair, take another section from the pinned-up hair and proceed as described above until all Tape Extensions have been applied.
Tips
Once the application is complete, the hair must not be washed or brushed vigorously for 48 hours, as the adhesive will not yet be fully cured.
As far as possible, do not apply care products, except mild shampoo, to the bonds, but only to the lengths of the hair. After washing, blow-dry the roots first so that the bonds do not soften.
Application & removal of wefts with Microrings
Prepare the natural hair as usual by washing and sectioning it. (See “Application of Bonding Extensions”)
After the natural hair has been neatly sectioned and clipped up, you should measure the width of the wefts. Now cut the wefts to the required widths and have them ready.
Now attach the first weft to the desired spot at the back of the head using sectioning clips. The wefts should not slip during application and should be held as tightly to the head as possible.
Now take the Microrings, the Microring needle, and the Microring pliers.
Now separate a strand of the natural hair and extension hair. Make sure that the two strands lie exactly on top of each other and are the same thickness. Now thread the two strands through the Microring using the Microring needle.
A tip: You can thread several Microrings onto the needle in advance; this will make your work easier.
After the hair has been carefully pulled through the ring, position the connection point so that it is placed as close to the head as possible without pulling on the natural hair. Then press the Microring firmly closed with the Microring pliers.
A tip: For better hold, 2 Microrings can also be placed on top of each other on one strand. Leave about 0.5 to 1 cm between the two rings.
Repeat the process along the entire weft piece. A distance of 1 to 1.5 cm should be maintained between the individual Microrings.
Then continue with the next section of the natural hair until the hair extension is complete.
Removal of the wefts is easy. To do this, open the Microrings with the Microring pliers and carefully pull them out of the natural hair.
A weft should be reinstalled every 4 to 6 weeks, as the connection points are very wide and can therefore become visible quickly. A cleaning cut is therefore rarely necessary.
Application & removal of clip-on wefts
To apply, pin up all of your hair with a few styling clips and leave only a horizontal row free in the lower nape area.
Clip the first weft in there, starting from one side and working across to the other side of the back of the head. Slide the weft teeth properly into your own hair and then clip it closed. Check the fit of the weft by gently pulling on it.
Make sure to leave about 3 cm of contour at the nape so that the weft is not visible even with updos.
A tip: If you have very fine or straight natural hair, it is recommended to tease the hair slightly at the roots for better hold of the clips.
Now release the styling clips at the top of the head and let another section of natural hair (4 cm) down so that a new horizontal row is created parallel to the lower weft. Now repeat the process as described above two or three more times.
To achieve an even more natural effect, you can pull a few of your own hair strands through the wefts with a tail comb so that the hair blends better.
Now you can clip in the narrower weft pieces near the temples and at the top of the head to achieve more volume in the side area.
Please again make sure to keep enough contour distance from the face and that enough natural hair remains to cover it. So you should not place the wefts too high on the head.
When all wefts are in place, you can gently comb and style the hair.
Removal is easy and follows the same order as application. Please comb the wefts afterward and remove any individual hairs that may have wrapped around the clips.
Now you can store the wefts and reapply them whenever you feel like having long hair.
Removal of Bonding Extensions
First section off the client’s hair as you would when applying extensions, to create a working area.
If you have a more sensitive reaction, it is recommended to wear thin disposable gloves so that you do not have direct contact with the chemical remover solution.
Take the first strand and press on the bond several times with the Removal Pliers to “crack” it a little.
Hold a cotton ball under the bond, apply some remover solution to it, and wait one minute so the solution can take effect. Then press the bond several more times with the pliers until it breaks apart into pieces and you can carefully pull out the extension strand.
Simply comb any remaining keratin residue out of the natural hair with a small fine-tooth comb. For stubborn keratin residue, simply moisten it again with the remover solution and comb it out.
Work your way through the entire extension this way.
Then wash/shampoo the natural hair thoroughly several times. A new extension can now be applied after the hair has been completely blow-dried.
If some bonds are very hard and you cannot get any further with the remover gel, you can also try isopropyl alcohol from the pharmacy if necessary. However, since this is very aggressive in its pure form, please do not apply this solution to the natural hair!
Please take enough time for removing the extensions.
Do not pull or tug at the hair!
Only gentle and careful removal guarantees the healthy preservation of the natural hair.
Rebonding Keratin Bonding Extensions
First, please remove all old keratin residue with a remover solution or, ideally, cut it off. For people who are somewhat more sensitive, it is recommended to wrap so-called silicone pads around the fingers so that the heated keratin can be grasped more easily.
In two steps
When pre-bonding, work over a tabletop where you can support your forearms a little and keep your hands steadier. Then take the strand to be bonded in your left hand and make sure that as many hairs as possible lie evenly at the front.
Now place the keratin plate on the upper end of the strand and hold it very lightly in place with just your thumbnail; it is fine if a few hair tips are not covered.
Now take the heating clamp in your right hand, place it carefully (watch your fingers!) and briefly heat the keratin so that it becomes soft and increases in area.
Now put the heating clamp aside again and wrap the strand, i.e. bend the keratin once to the right and once to the left around the strand and press it down firmly (best to press lightly with compression pliers).
Twisting the bond is not recommended, as it will be difficult to apply later. A flat shape is better, especially for those working with ultrasound. The keratin must be heated well beforehand so that the hair ends are properly pressed into the mass; otherwise they will fall out of the bond. If in doubt, heat the keratin mass again and press it together well.
The extensions are now prepared and can be applied.
In one step
Another option is to rebond and apply in one step, but this requires some practice and should first be tried on a practice head.
In principle, the procedure is the same as for normal application, i.e. first section off the natural hair strand and secure it in the template.
Now pick up the extension strand and place it over the natural hair strand, without letting go. Now take the rebond with the other hand, place it about 1 - 2 cm from the hairline at the beginning of the extension strand, and secure it with your thumbnail. Now take the heating clamp and hold it in place. The moment the clamp touches the keratin, it can no longer slip away and you pull your thumb back a little before fully closing the clamp.
Now melt the keratin, fold it over, and press or twist it firmly. If there are any irregularities in the bond, heat it again until it is nice and smooth and no longer shows any white spots.
With this method, it is essential to make sure that the strand is held as close to the head as possible; please read the instructions for applying extensions!
Reusing Tape Extensions
Gentle removal of Tape Extensions is very easy with the hairoyal Tape Spray Remover.
After about 4 to 8 weeks, Tape Extensions have grown out - they need to be moved up. With a little dexterity and the help of a friend for the areas at the back of the head, moving up/reusing the tapes is easily possible. Spray or drip enough remover liquid from above between the adhesive strips. Massage in the remover briefly and let it work. Separate the adhesive strips from each other using a needle comb, then carefully pull the hair strand out of the natural hair. If it does not come loose easily, repeat the process.
Remove adhesive residue from the Tape Extensions with a tail comb and remover. Adhesive residue in the natural hair can be removed with our U-Argan Oil. After removing all Tape Extensions, wash the natural hair several times carefully with a deep cleansing shampoo.
Attention: The hair must not contain any adhesive/remover residue, otherwise the durability of the moved-up tapes will be affected.
Re-taping Tape Extensions:
Already worn tapes can be very easily re-taped. For re-taping, tape remover, tape strips, a scraper, and tweezers as an aid are required. Carefully peel off the old adhesive tapes from the extensions or remove them with the help of the tape scraper. Remove all adhesive residue with the help of tape remover and a tail comb. Clean the adhesive surface of the extensions with the tape remover, wash the Tape Extensions thoroughly - then allow them to dry completely. Then press the new strip firmly onto the tape strand - do not touch the adhesive surface of the tape with your fingers. The newly taped Tape Extensions can be reused as usual.
& all of this completely without heat with the hairoyal tape strips!
Application of Blind Tapes
With Blind Tapes, you can work in individual tape strands in no time at all. Due to the adhesive surface on one side, it serves as the counterpart.
At the beginning, section the natural hair into individual sections as usual. (See "Application of Bonding Extensions")
Option 1:
Take a thin strand of natural hair and stick the Blind Tape underneath the hair. Now place the desired tape strand on the Blind Tape and press the connection point airtight with the Tape Pliers.
Option 2:
Stick a strand of the Tape Extensions to the natural hair and lift it up with the help of the tape strand. Now attach the Blind Tape underneath.
Make sure that both adhesive points lie exactly on top of each other and that no ends stick out. Then seal the connection point airtight, preferably with Tape Pliers.
Note: If you use our Hairoyal Tape Strips and Blind Tapes together, you do not need heat.
